"Trickle up poverty"

I borrow this phrase from the inestimable Michael Savage, of radio fame, who first coined it. While I do not listen to the man on a daily basis, I tend to think along the same lines of reference. As is the case with Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Savage (yes, he has earned a Ph.D, so is entitled to the prefix), and Mark Levin have given us much to ponder, as has Glenn Beck with his 912 Project. While the Tea Parties around this country are useful, we are not reliving our original Revolution of 1776. I believe that the signs are much more ominous, a la the French Revolution, which in turn spawned the Russian and the bloodshed of the 20th century. This time, the scoundrels will be much more crafty, and the blood shed will not be on such an horrific scale. We have the spectacle of the current House and Senate, led since 2006 by the Democrats, the modern day Jacobins. We have the institution, under the GIVE Act which just passed muster in the House, of the American version of the Hitler Youth (HT to Gateway Pundit for calling this Act what it really is). We have ACORN, with the blessings of the open threats of Barney Frank, our favorite heterophobe, threatening private citizens, in their homes, who had the misfortune to succeed on their own merits and talents, just like the mobs of Paris storming the Bastille in 1789. We have the tenets of Marx and lenin enshrined in the TOTUS, who now wants his tax cheat Treasury secretary to have greatly enhanced powers of seizure of private corporations.

To those who voted for this, J'accuse!!!! By your act of voting, you have undermined the greatness of this country. By your selfishness you have betrayed her. May God have mercy on your souls. You are reaping what you have sown- enjoy its galling taste.

Happy St. Jospeh's Day!!!!

Love this saint- patron of husbands, fathers, etc. What a real man in times of trouble - a pillar of support for his wife and child. What sacrifices he made to ensure God's Will be done. The Italians rightly remember him with glorious celebrations on his feast day. He has been overlooked, as too many good husbands and fathers are in today's society of selfish women and whining children.

Great restaurant chain for Lent

Geoff and I found a great restaurant chain, Beef O'Brady's. Had heard of it before from my parents in South Carolina, but went for the first tijme today. Lo and behold, on each and every table, in the three sided lucite holders common to chain restaurant chains, there was a listing of foods available that were appropriate for Lent. It was even called Lent 2009!!!! Kudos to this chain, which thankfully serves Coke and not Pepsi. We are now new fans.

BURN NOTICE

I have to admit it, but I am addicted to this show!!!! I never schedule my life around a show, but this show is the first and only exception. I missed parts of Season 1, so when I saw the dvd set in Walmart, I grabbed it. This show simply gets better with every episode- the actors are perfectly cast for their roles, something that I have never seen before. The writing is superior and witty, something NOT seen on the major networks. I cannot say enough about this show, and am looking forward to June when Season 4 debuts. Why this show has never been nominated for anything is beyond me. I loved Bruce Campbell in the Fox show, "Jack of All Trades", and his current character is even better. All of the stars, and they are truly stars, are at the top of their game.

A New Day in Ohio!!!!

Yes, we are back in the great state of Ohio!!! We were only home from our first such venture 36 hours, when Geoff learned that he had to be back on Thursday. (We had arrived home at 10 PM on February 28th, and the word came at 2:30 PM, the 2nd of March, a Monday) Geoff took Amtrak to NJ to retrieve our car on Tuesday, while I did mounds of laundry and got him repacked. Ginger, our intrepid doxie extraordinaire, and I left on Friday, the 6th!!!! So much for having a week to look through the piles of mail, do our taxes, and sleep in!!!! We had a major scare this past weekend- Geoff experienced weakness/numbness in his left arm and leg, so off to the emergency room we went Friday afternoon. Possibility of a stroke considered by the ERm doc, Dr. Marshall at the Sagamore Hills Medical Center, who promptly sent Geoff to the Cleveland Clinic. Me, the tears did not stop - I had always hoped that I would be strong when and if Geoff needed me, a la Joan of Arc. No, just a marshmallow with overflowing tear ducts. An iceberg settled itself around my heart and remained, dead weight and all, until yesterday, when I brought him back to our hotel (yes, another La Quinta, and with an indoor pool). The CAT scan at the ER ruled out a big stroke, but an MRI and MRA were needed to rule out the silent strokes. MRI was at 10:30 PM on Saturday. Great radiology tech named Becky- she let me stay with him during the MRI, due to intense claustrophobia. He came through with flying colors, and now is on Lipitor for his high cholesterol. The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and its affiliated hopsitals are fantastic and saved my GEoff.

The author posits the idea that Rahmbo and his minions have already written off El Rushbo's audience, so Rush needs to get on the liberal media and debate anyone on their home turf (CNN, CBS, NBC, etc) This premise is promising, in that it makes the point that the squishy so called "moderate" voters don't listen to talk radio, but use the aforementioned as their primary source for political news. Take it to the libs Rush!!!!! Call these Sunday show producers while doing your show and give them what they deserve!!!!

The almighty Maha Rushie has done it again!! Just off a successful speaking engagement at CPAC this past Saturday (video posted below- all ten segments), he again points out the hypocrisy and childishness of the current Administration (less than two months old and I am already fatigued by it, even more than by the eight loooong years of the Clintons). I hope she doesn't mind, but until I figure out how to link properly, I cut and pasted the link to a great article by The Anchoress, concerning today's show, which I did hear at home via the Internet. A highly recommended must read, along with Rush's own website. (Definitely worth investing in his 24/7 website and newsletter, by the way)

This moral morass known as America

I am appalled by the shenanigans and the lying of the current Administration and its minions. They and their adherents are hell bent on destroying America, first through the financial and banking crises they helped create, through the mortgate mess they created, with their constant end runs around the Constitution vis-a-vis the First Amendment (and I don't mean the Fairness Doctrine- watch how they "regulate" media and radio markets through the FCC in pursuit of "diversity") The abortion nightmares about to be unleashed on this country make me weep. So much for having the brightest Ivy League educated minds in charge- they don;t know a hill of beans about running anything. We are on the path towards socialism, and in less than six weeks. From now on, whenever I encounter someone who voted for this, I will make sure that I thank them for destroying America.

Rush Limbaugh, an American Hero and an American Icon

As you can see, I absolutely love Rush Limbaugh. I hope and pray that CPAC sells DVDs of his speech and that of Newt Gingrich, instead of audio recordings as has been done in years past. We caught part of the speech while enroute home from our two month sojourn in Ohio, at a rest stop, on CNN. What a speech- it was uplifting and a balm for an aching heart. He told the truth, and nothing but the truth.

If anyone has been wondering about my lack of blogging, Geoff and I were in Ohio for the past two months. While at the La Quinta Inn computer access was very limited, so blogging took a back seat. (If you have pets and travel, stay at a La Quinta- they are pet friendly and a great chain)

He is busy with CSX as a management trainee for Signals, and we have now been placed in our first assignment. Yes, we are returning to Ohio, where Geoff will be running the hump yard in Willard, Ohio!!! He is very excited, as am I. He leaves tomorrow to meet with his new boss, and then comes back to New York to get me and our dachsie, Ginger. (The cats will follow later once we have a permanent address- don't fret, they are staying with my inlaws!!!) This means that the belongings in storage for the last two years will again see the light of day, and we will be buying a house in Ohio!!!! We had only just arrived back Saturday night late, and while we knew that we would be moving to Ohio, did not expect it to be the very next week. We still have to return to New York to move out of the apartment, but all things in God's time. Am still woozy thinking of these turn of events.

We will be joining the Parish of St. Joseph in Toledo, where the TLM is celebrated every Sunday. What a glorious church this is!!! The pastor is new but what a priest!!!! While in Ohio, we attended Mass there and at Holy Rosary in Dayton , which has the TLM thanks to the FSSP. That church is aso spectacular, complete with baldachino. I have never attended Mass celebrated by a priest of the FSSP, but wow is all that can be said. I love being Catholic and having the TLM!!!!

With regard to the last two months events- The Holy Father is of course correct in lifting the excommunications of the SSPX bishops, period. The other stuff has nothing to do with canon law, and is just fodder for the Church's enemies.
