Adrienne's Catholic Corner

Our dear blogging friend, Adrienne of Adrienne's Catholic Corner, has lost her stepson. Please remember Adrienne and her family in your prayers, this first Sunday of Advent.

Rule 5 Sunday (continued)

More reasons to be thankful this year. Doug Giles is the father of our heroine, Hannah Giles. With a father like this, conservatives can never go wrong.

Prayer Request

I humbly ask my readers for their prayers on behalf of Geoffrey. It is the end of the year and in railroading things can get a bit stressful and dangerous. Please pray for all those involved in railroading- this is th busiest time of the year and accidents can and do occur.

Catholics and the Public Square

For the past several weeks, this country has been treated to the shenanigans of Representative Patrick Kennedy, son of the late Senator from Massachusetts. He apparently has a compulsive need to publicly call out the Roman Catholic Church, and his bishop, in particular. His actions, in which he has been the source of the revelations concerning the bishop;s directives that he refrain from the sacraments due to his public actions, are execrable and those of a person deficient in good moral character. They are cowardly in that he releases what purport to be private communications and counselings from his bishop, and then whines like a girly man and coward when the bishop (how DARE he) defend the Church and Her teachings in public. The bishop, throughout this situation, has reacted the way that a real man would- calmly and temperately, especially since he knows that he is dealing with a man child. The Representative is behaving cravenly, and as a bully- he is not getting his way and he knows it. The Kennedy aura and mystique cannot be pulled over his bishop's eyes and he is panicking.

The better man has already won, as has the Church of which he is a member of its episcopate. Now, where were McCarrick and O'Malley when they participated in the burial of the father?

For Adrienne!!!!

For Adrienne, of Adrienne's Catholic Corner-

"The Other McCain" Inaugural Award

In honor of His Awesomeness, the Fearless Leader of the VRWC Blogosphere, I am announcing the inaugural "The Other McCain" Award.

Nominees MUST meet the criteria of being outrageously outspoken, MUST BE conservative/republican males. Female groupies are more than a fashion accessory. NRA membership not a prerequisite but a turn on for the fairer sex. Blogging is NOT necessary, but those who have NOT been banned by LGF face an uphill challenge.

Winners may simply cut and paste this image to proudly display on their home computers or their blogs. (I did not create the image, but found it after an extensive search, spurred on by Adrienne's challenge to our Rule 5 when she posted Ricardo Montalban)

Rule 5 Sunday for Conservative Women

Stealing the thunder from Adrienne's Catholic Corner (for having the audactiy to spend the night with our fearless leader of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy of blogosphere, The Other McCain) I hereby announce the creation of Rule 5 Sunday for Conservative Women. We are fully aware that our principles are sound and that we are the future, as we have neither aborted nor contracepted away our children. Those of us blessed with children usually have larger families, and I present this weekly posting as to the reason why- we simply are overwhelmed by God's command to go forth and multiply and these gorgeous men are the reason why. Girlie men will NEVER be found here, nor will traitors, Democrats, liberals, moderates, progressives, etc. (I know, I should simply shut up and stop overkilling with the synonyms!!!) For those of us without the blessings of children, these postings will ease aching hearts, as we gaze upon real men, the macho ones who will put us on our pedestal and do everything in their power to keep us there, to defend our very lives, and to keep God in his life and the USA forever free, whatever the cost.

I present to you my beloved Geoffrey, Rule 5 entry numero uno!!!! (He is the cute one with LTC North, another outstanding Rule 5 for conservative women eye candy)

I knew that Ohio was a blue state when we moved here, but this is criminal. Joe the Plumber's opponents and government employee snoops are being defended in his civil suit at taxpayer expense!!! I thought this kind of criminal venality existed only in New Jersey and the rest of the Northeast and in California.

Veterans Day

As one veteran to all of the others- thank you. My paternal family's military history goes back to the Revolutionary War, in which Jacob Maple served in the Middlesex NJ militia as a private at the battles of Trenton and Monmouth. His son William served during the War of 1812 from Guernsey County, Ohio. William's grandson Albert Gallup Maple, my great great grandfather, served during the Civil War in a unit from Illinois. His grandson, Albert Gain Black, my paternal grandfather, served in the Army during World War I as a Lieutenant, and he is buried in Arlington national Cemetery. His son, Robert Gain Black, Sr., my dearly loved father, served in the Army during the Korean War. (Dad died on 17 September 2009, and his obituary and his funeral service reflected his military service.) Of my father's eight children, his two eldest, myself and my brother Robert Gain Black, Jr. both were commissioned into the United States Army right of college- both of us having received ROTC scholarships- mine was a four year and I graduated from St. John's UNiversity in 1984, with a Regular Army commission in the Ordnance Corps. Robert graduated from Drake University in 1985 with a Regular Army commission in the Field Artillery. He retired after serving in both Gulf Wars and in Bosnia. My husband, Geoffrey, is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserves. My maternal family's military history is not as extensive, as it did not precede the 19th century. My maternal grandfather served enlisted in the Navy in World War I, and one of his brothers attended West Point and served during the same war. My father in law and his brother bothe served in the 1960s and late 1950s i the US Army.

Geoff also thought that this massacre/act of terrorism fits under the definition of treason, and I agree. Great minds think alike!!!!

Election 2009 musings

Our country has survived to fight another day- the Republicans won in Virginia and New Jersey, but not in NY-23. Geoff and I, along with our intrepid conservative dachshunds, watched the results until 11 PM. The shock of the Corzine defeat was simply wonderful. Hving come from NJ ourselves, we watched as the votes came in, and after 50 percent had been tallied, and Christie held a 50 to 44 lead, we were awestruck. He held this lead until 77 percent of the votes were tallied, when it shrank to 49 to 45, but it held and he won. We have watched the shenanigans and blatant illegalities used by the Dems in NJ to get their way (remember Torricelli?), and while we prayed Christie would win, we also remembered our history. Have not been so happy to say that I was once a Jersey Girl, but can now.

On behalf of Doug Hoffman- thank you for such a heroic stand against evil. You held firm and hopefully the RNC, the RCCC, and the RSCC will get the message. If they don't then we know where to go to vote. Not third party, but NOT ONE RED CENT to the RINO supporting party elites at the Republican Party.
